GENERAL INFORMATION

Scent Free Environment

Medical evidence clearly shows that scented products can be harmful to the health of those with allergies, environmental sensitivity, or chronic heart or lung disease.  It is the responsibility of all person's entering the North Shore Health Network to refrain from the use of scented products.

North Shore Health Network has a duty, under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act to protect individuals that are sensitive to fragrances.

“Scented Products” are any fragranced item including but not limited to: air fresheners, scented candles, hairspray, perfumes, colognes, aftershave, soaps, body washes, shampoos, scented cleaning products, ect.

Smoking

The North Shore Health Network is a smoke-free workplace. Anyone found smoking on the Hospital grounds could be subject to a $300 fine.  

 

Coin Machines

Coin machines are available at the main entrance of the Blind River Site to provide coins for parking.

Vending Machines

Hot and cold drinks and snacks are available inside and outside the cafeteria at the Blind River Site to all visitors and staff members.  Cold drinks are also available off the main lobby in the gift shop.

Gift Shop

Gift shop hours can be found on the Gift Shop door next to the front entrance of the hospital at the Blind River Site. *NOTE: The Gift Shop is currently closed due to COVID-19.

ATM

Automated Teller Machines are located at the front entrance of the hospital.

OTN (Ontario Telemedicine Network) Access

The Ontario Telemedicine Network is a service that allows two-way videoconferencing with specialists from hospitals across the province. Scheduled videoconferencing can be used for an initial assessment, a follow up appointment, as well as the delivery of education for health care professionals. This service has decreased patient waiting times and travel expenses.
