Ontario Telemedicine Network
Telehealth NORTH Network is a service that allows videoconferencing with different specialists from other hospitals across the province. This gives the patient opportunity to see a specialist for an initial assessment or follow up appointment via video. This service decreases waiting time, travel time and expenses and it has saved over $5 million in travel grant costs in the year 2005/2006.
The system is also utilized for staff and patient education as well as meetings.
