The Rehabilitation Department is currently staffed with one full-time registered physiotherapist, and one full-time physiotherapy aide. Physiotherapy services are provided to the clients on Acute Care and to the residents of Golden Birches Terrace, as well as to the general community on an out-patient basis in the fully-equipped physiotherapy department. There are no in-home services provided.
» Department Hours?
The Rehabilitation Department is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. There is no coverage for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
» Do I Require An Appointment?
For out-patient physiotherapy services, you do require an appointment. There is a waiting list, but the cases are booked according to priority. For example, if someone just had knee surgery, or just had their wrist out of a cast, that person is seen much quicker than someone who has had low back pain for five years.
» Do I Have To Pay For These Services?
No, you do not pay for receiving the physiotherapy services. These services are covered by the Blind River District Health Centre’s global budget.
» Do I Require A Doctors Refferal?
Because you do not pay to receive the services, you do require a referral, either from a doctor or a nurse practitioner.
