Infection Control

The Infection Control Nurse possesses knowledge of epidemiological principles, statistics, microbiology, infectious diseases, patient care practice and continuous quality improvement.  Her role involves daily collaborative efforts within all aspects of health care.  Specific responsibilities include: acting as a facilitator to reduce the risk of infection within health care; bridging the gap to health care facilities, to the community, to related professional disciplines and to industry; and acting as a resource to others through sharing her knowledge of epidemiology.
