Environmental Services Department

The Environmental Services Department is often an unseen member of the health care team. Working behind the scenes we ensure that the Blind River District Health Centre is a safe and clean working environment for all employees, patients and visitors.

The Housekeeping staff is responsible for the frequent and thorough cleaning of all patient, public and staff areas. They are also responsible for the collection and disposal of all waste, regular and biomedical, and all recycling materials.

The Linen staff handles the delivery of clean linen and the pick-up of soiled linen.

The Maintenance staff ensures that the integrity of the facility is maintained by providint the proper upkeep of equipment as well as performing general repairs.

Environmental Services staff does a variety of other tasks including setting-up meeting rooms, waxing all floors and responding to emergency codes, to name a few.
